"Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and NOT BY FAITH ONLY" James 2:24.
I have implied over and over again on this platform for those who truly want to be relevant in God's purpose here on earth and reign with Him in the hereafter that to become a child/heir of God is by faith in the finished work of Christ and to keep being a heir accords a man the responsibility of feeding his faith with works which warrant him making daily choices (vs 20)
Someone may say but the works spoken of in this scripture has nothing to do with abstinence from sin but taking steps of faith. Then I ask, was offering Isaac not a sort of denial?
"Show me your faith without victory over sin, self and worldly lust and I will show you my faith by a life of victory over sin, self and worldly lust"
Does the above quotation correlate with verse 18?
Don't forget even though my life of victory comes from the grace made available to me through my faith in God through Christ, utilisation of this precious gift of God lies exclusively on my choices and that DAILY.
O comrade, don't be deceived, any moment you indulge yourself in a particular sin, know that you have just chosen to frustrate the grace of God over your life at that moment.
That is why no one can continue in sin and at the same time continue to keep his position as God's heir except if the gospel brought by Jesus and preached by the saints of God reserves a space for abusers or defaulters of grace.
Shalom.
