"Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone" 1Thess.5:14 NLT
Our third responsibility according to the above scriptural verse is to take tender care of the weak among us.
Isaiah 35:3 and Heb.12:12 encourage the strong among us to lovingly make sure the weak and the feeble are strengthened rather than abandoned or turned away from the way.
The enemy of the Church is not as powerful as we think, what is giving the enemy edge over the Church is our attitude towards the weak and the feeble among us.
Even though we should not be ignorant of those who are enemies, who come among us pretending to be weak and feeble with the aim of adding to our burdens to hinder us from moving on fast, to pull us down or stain the name of the Lord before the world from within us yet, there are those who are truly weak and feeble.
We are expected to support the weak and the feeble rather than castigating, criticizing, abandoning or gossiping about them. When one of us falls in this fierce battle, let's give him/her a backup and formidable help until they rise to their feet again.
If you're strong O comrade help the weak and the feeble. Don't forget no one is wholly strong; that weak person may be strong where you are also weak. We're to keep helping one another until we reach our home.
May the Lord grant us wisdom and patience to be faithful to this call.
Shalom.
