We are in a generation that hates the instructions of elders. Young people today question the instructions of elders to the detriment of their own souls. They hang their basis for such attitude on "that instruction is not found in the Bible or God didn't tell me Himself".
But as we see in the Rechabites, the instructions of their father does not have have biblical backings for no place in the scriptures is it written that men SHOULD NOT take wine or BUILD HOUSES neither did God instruct them expressly yet they obeyed and that brought God's blessings on them.
"Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever." Jer.35:16 & 19.
O comrade, as long as the instructions of elders is not meant to exploit you or make you go against the law of life in Christ Jesus, don't arrogantly reject them. It will do you some good.
