Every man desires acceptability among men. Even evil doers try to justify their activities. Why? They desire to have supporters of their views. When a man speaks from his very heart and people raise eyebrows over his statements, he may quickly explain it away as "misunderstanding/misinterpretation" so as to retain his acceptance among men. Men can actually be deceived but not God.
O comrade, love for self esteem breeds pretence and this is an abomination before the Lord.
Do not forget that God does not just reward actions, He judges the motives first.
Watch your motives.
