DOINGS AND HOLINESS, ANY LINK? 1

"But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living. For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy. [Lev. 11:44, 45.]
1 Peter 1:15-16 AMP.
When God said "Be ye holy for I am holy" as I have often say it is NOT a creative word as in "Let there be light" in Genesis but a word that brings responsibility to man.
The word "Holy" is being defined as "Perfect" or "Flawless". So being holy can be defined as being flawless or perfect.
Therefore, the above scriptural verses can be rendered "But as the One Who called you is perfect/flawless, you yourselves also be perfect/flawless in all your conduct and manner of living. For it is written, You shall be perfect/flawless, for I am Perfect/flawless"
If the words "conduct and manner of living" connote "doings" then, it means holiness is not only in nature but also in the doings.
As therefore nothing lacking the characteristics of living things can be said to be alive, so also no one lacking in holy conduct and manner of living can be said to be holy. Selah!
The scriptures admonish O comrade, "strive for peace with all men, AND FOR THE HOLINESS without which no one will see the Lord" Hebrews 12:14 RSV.
Shalom
